New Delhi: The clash between Yashasvi Jaiswal and Josh Hazlewood was one of the highlights of the IPL 2025 match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Rajasthan Royals in Bengaluru on Thursday. The battle began in the fourth over — Hazlewood’s first — as RCB looked to defend a total of 205. Hazlewood started strong, delivering three dot balls to Jaiswal, including a sharp short ball that left the batter momentarily stunned. However, Jaiswal responded in style, bouncing back with three consecutive boundaries to shift the momentum.

In the final over of the Powerplay, Jaiswal continued his aggressive approach, smashing two fours and a six in the first four deliveries. However, his onslaught came to an end when he mistimed a slower ball from Hazlewood, sending a simple catch to mid-wicket. Jaiswal was dismissed for 49 — just one short of a half-century. As he walked off, Hazlewood gave him a fiery send-off, prompting a sharp verbal exchange from the Indian star in response.

Josh Hazlewood delivered a superb spell of fast bowling, claiming four wickets to lead Royal Challengers Bengaluru to an 11-run victory over Rajasthan Royals in their IPL 2025 clash on Thursday. Chasing a target of 206, RR could only manage 194 for 9 in their 20 overs, slumping to their fifth consecutive defeat of the season.

Yashasvi Jaiswal top-scored for Rajasthan Royals with a quickfire 49, while Dhruv Jurel contributed a valuable 47. Despite their efforts, RR fell short in their chase of 206.

For Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Josh Hazlewood was the standout bowler with impressive figures of 4 for 33. He was well supported by Krunal Pandya (2/31), Bhuvneshwar Kumar (1/50), and Yash Dayal (1/33), who chipped in with key wickets.

Earlier, RCB posted a strong total of 205 for 5 after being put in to bat. Virat Kohli led the charge with a fluent 70 off 42 balls, while Devdutt Padikkal added 50 off 27. Their 95-run partnership for the second wicket was the cornerstone of the innings.

Towards the end of the innings, Tim David (23) and Jitesh Sharma (19 not out)* played impactful cameos to help RCB cross the 200-run mark, finishing strongly.

Brief Scores:
Royal Challengers Bengaluru: 205/5 in 20 overs (Virat Kohli 70, Devdutt Padikkal 50; Sandeep Sharma 2/45)
