New Delhi: Indian cricket star Virat Kohli made his return to play for Delhi this week against Railways, marking his first appearance in domestic cricket since 2012. Fans have shown great enthusiasm for the 36-year-old’s comeback, with many lining up to see him in action.

Gate numbers 16 and 17, which were initially designated for entry, proved insufficient, prompting the opening of Gate number 18 to ensure safe access.

The state association has announced that the game will be accessible to the public at no cost, with the requirement that attendees present their Aadhaar card. Additionally, Jio Cinema, which was not initially set to air the game live, is now preparing to provide a live broadcast.

The secretary of the DDCA mentioned that they have asked the Delhi Police to enhance security measures.

“This is not a normal Ranji Trophy match. Apna Cheeku (Kohli’s nickname) khel raha hai (Our Cheeku is playing). We have requested the Delhi Police to help us with more extra police force for the next four days. We’ll also have our own private security as well,” he said.

When inquired about the DDCA’s intentions to honor Kohli prior to the match, the secretary responded, “This is not his last match. There is no such plans.”
