Former India captain Virat Kohli made a female fan’s day waiting for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) superstar with a warm and friendly hug. Kohli presumably recognized her as one of his relatives and went ahead to give her a warm hug with a big smile on his face ahead of the third and final ODI match against England in Ahmedabad on Wednesday.

Kohli’s video of hugging the female fan soon went viral on social media although it was just for a few seconds as people were trying to break the security barrier on his arrival at the airport.

Kohli was dismissed for just 5 in the second ODI match against England at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack on Sunday. The Indian batter had missed the first ODI match with a swollen knee at Nagpur last week. Team India have already taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the ODI series vs England with big wins in the first two ODI matches.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka spin bowling legend Muttiah Muralitharan feels India will rely on both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli to be in top form to secure victory in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which begins in Pakistan and Dubai next week.

As the eight-nation competition kicks off on February 19, the spotlight remains on Rohit and Kohli’s form. While Rohit silenced critics with his 32nd ODI century against England on Sunday, Kohli has struggled for runs since his unbeaten 100 in the Perth Test against Australia last November.

“They are world-class players. I always say class is permanent, and form is temporary. They will find their rhythm,” Muralitharan was quoted as saying by PTI news agency.

“Rohit has already scored a hundred, and Virat will soon find his touch. Their form is crucial for India’s success in this tournament,” he added.

The third and final ODI between India and England is set to take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Wednesday.
