Star Indian cricketer faces legal trouble after former agency sues him for ₹5 crore over unpaid dues and contract breach; his name is Nitish Kumar Reddy.

New Delhi: India and Sunrisers Hyderabad‘s young all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy is embroiled in a legal dispute. His former player management agency Square The One has filed a petition against him for dues of more than ₹5 crore. The matter will be heard in the Delhi High Court on July 28.
The relationship broke during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy
According to sources, the relationship between Nitish and his former agency deteriorated during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. After this, Nitish signed an agreement with the manager of another Indian player involved in the tour. The agency has alleged that Nitish violated the management agreement and did not pay the agreed amount.
Legal process and demand
Square The One Private Limited has filed a petition under Section 11(6) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act. It seeks the appointment of an independent arbitrator who can decide on the breach of contract and outstanding payment. The agency says that they have been representing Nitish since 2021 and have arranged several brand deals and commercial partnerships for him.
Nitish’s side and recent performance
According to sources, Nitish has denied any payment and claimed that he had done the brand deals himself. At the same time, Nitish’s performance has been weak since his brilliant debut in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. After playing with an injury in IPL 2025, his injury became serious before the series against England, and he was ruled out of the entire season.
