New Delhi: Former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen has praised Sarfaraz Khan‘s tremendous physical transformation. According to reports, Sarfaraz has lost 17 kg a month before the domestic season and now looks very fit and slim. Sarfaraz has been performing consistently well in domestic cricket for the last few years.
Fitness has been questioned
Even though Sarfaraz has been performing consistently in domestic cricket, his absence from the Indian team in the Test series against England raised questions about his fitness.
Test debut in 2024
Although Sarfaraz made his Test debut against England in 2024, he has not been able to secure his place in the team so far.

Harbhajan Singh had said, “It is very unfortunate… I was surprised that his name was not in the squad. I am sure he will come back strongly. He has the will to come back… I would just say don’t be disappointed, if not today then tomorrow you will definitely get your due.”

Prithvi Shaw changes team
Meanwhile, out-of-favour India batsman Prithvi Shaw, who had performed brilliantly in his early days, will now play for Maharashtra in domestic cricket. In June, Prithvi had sought an NOC from Mumbai, which he received at the end of the month. Shaw had said in a statement, “At this stage of my career, I feel joining the Maharashtra team will help in my cricketing development. I am grateful to the Mumbai Cricket Association for the opportunities and support I have received over the years.”
