Pakistan captain Mohammad Rizwan’s religious approad to captaincy has been revealed by his teammate in a viral video on social media.

Opener Imam-ul-Haq has come into the Pakistan side for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 at the last moment. Imam wasn’t part of the initial Pakistan squad for the Champions Trophy but with Fakhar Zaman getting injured after the first match against New Zealand in Karachi, Imam was drafted into the side for their second game against India at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday.
Imam, however, was dismissed for just 10 off 26 balls in Pakistan’s six-wicket loss to Team India thanks to a brilliant run-out by Axar Patel. Pakistan’s second successive loss in the Champions Trophy 2025 meant that the host nation are already out of the race of qualifying for the semifinal stages.
India and New Zealand have booked their berths in the Champions Trophy semifinals after winning both their opening games so far against Bangladesh and Pakistan. Off the field, Imam-ul-Haq has made some startling revelations about Pakistan skipper Mohammad Rizwan.
In a candid interview, which has gone viral on social media, Imam is asked about the leaders in the Pakistan team. The 29-year-old southpaw revealed that all seniors in the side are ‘fighting’ with each other.
“Who shall I name as a leader? Sare ladh rahe hai aapas mein (Everyone’s fighting among themselves),” Imam said with a laugh in the interview.
The Pakistan opener also revealed Mohammad Rizwan’s religious approach to captaining the national side. He also shared that Rizwan arranges for room for ‘namaz’ in the team hotels wherever the side travels and Hindus or ‘non-Muslims’ in the squad are not allowed to enter this room.
“For now, I can say Rizzi (Rizwan). He arranges rooms in hotels, gathers everyone for Namaz, spreads white sheets (for prayers), restricts non-Muslims from entering. He also makes WhatsApp groups for Namaz timings,” Imam revealed.
