Rajasthan Royals star cricketer Riyan Parag opened up about his controversy around internet search history which featured Bollywood stars like Ananya Pandey and Sara Ali Khan.

Team India and Rajasthan Royals all-rounder Riyan Parag finally opened up about the viral news about his internet search history. For the unversed, Parag had been caught on video with the search window of his browser wide open which had ‘explicit’ searches about Bollywood stars like Ananya Pandey and Sara Ali Khan.
Parag, who hit the limelight with his consistent performances in IPL 2024 for the Royals, had been embroiled in controversy when this ‘search history’ went viral on social media.
Speaking to City1016 Radio in an interview, Parag finally broke silence that it had all happened before the IPL 2024 but his solid show in the T20 league last year saw the topic resurface on social media again.
“I finished the IPL, we were in Chennai, finished the match, got on a Discord call with my streaming team, and it got publicised now, but it happened before the IPL. One of the people in my Discord team tried to set me up before the IPL, but that got taken down very quickly. But then after the IPL, the hype was there, and I had a good season. I came and opened my stream, I didn’t have Spotify or Apple Music. Everything was deleted,” Parag had said in the interview.
Riyan Parag is only 22 years old. We all did such things at that age.

The Assam and Royals all-rounder revealed that the topic was blown out of proportion and he didn’t feel it was important for him to go public and clarify.
“So I went on YouTube to put on music, and I searched for music. But I didn’t know what was happening, but once I did the stream ended, I was like Oh s**t! This happened. It just got blown out of proportion. I didn’t think it was good enough a reason for me to go out publicly and clarify everything and no one would understand,” he added.

Riyan notched up 573 runs in 15 matches in IPL 2024 season at an average of 52.09 with a strike-rate o 149.22 with 4 fifties for the Royals. As a result, the Royals retained the youngster for Rs 14 crore ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction last year. Only Sanju Samson and Yashasvi Jaiswal with Rs 18 crore were retained for a bigger amount than Riyan Parag.
The 23-year-old has turned out in 1 ODI and 9 T20I matches for Team India till date.
