Who are the four siblings who cleared the UPSC exam from the same family?
Hailing from Pratapgarh district in Uttar Pradesh, Anil Mishra lived with his wife and children in a two-room house. He has two sons and two daughters named Yogesh, Madhavi, Lokesh, and Kshama. Anil Mishra always wanted his children to reach great heights of success, so he never compromised on their education. In return, the children fulfilled their father’s dreams through their hard work and achievements.
You will be surprised to know that all four siblings of the Mishra family passed the UPSC exam and became IAS and IPS officers. Initially, Yogesh Mishra passed the UPSC exam in 2013 and became an IAS officer.
What ranks did the Mishra siblings secure in the UPSC exams?
Yogesh pursued his engineering from Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology, Prayagraj and had no interest in UPSC when he began his job at a software company in Noida. However, since his sisters were serious about clearing the civil services exam and were struggling, he decided to come in and try.
“I also accessed all possible papers to understand the thinking of the Commission and expectations from students. I also had a level playing field as CSAT was new for everyone. I prepared my own notes and managed to clear the exam,” Yogesh was quoted as saying by Better India report(2022). Later, he shared his notes and tricks with his sisters.
Then, his sister Madhavi also sat for the UPSC Civil Services exam. In 2015, Madhavi secured an impressive All India Rank(AIR) of 62.
According to the Better India report(2022), the four siblings studied till Class 12 in a Hindi-medium school. After Madhavi, their youngest brother, Lokesh, achieved an All India Rank(AIR) of 44th in 2015 and became an IAS officer. After that, Kshama, with the help of her siblings, passed the UPSC Civil Services on her fourth attempt and achieved her dream of becoming an IPS officer.
Currently, the siblings run a coaching centre called Glory IAS that provides guidance and training to aspirants. Yogesh, who heads the project, once stated he has supported over 100 students to pass the UPSC exam over the last 7–8 years. The centre aims to provide personal and individualized one-to-one guidance.
